At Ample Joy ABA, we provide services to children, adolescents, and young adults with autism, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual disorder (ID), and behavioral needs. ABA services may start as early as 18 months of age, and can continue at various points in a person’s development over the course of their lifespan. Our ABA programs are goal-driven, and individualized to the needs of the learner. Goals are selected based on assessment, and what would be meaningful for the person to learn. Each goal is broken into simple steps that are manageable for the person to learn with success, and the training process increases in complexity as more skills are acquired. Various intervention approaches are used within an ABA program. All techniques used are research-based, and involve ongoing data collection to ensure that effective behavior change and skill development are occurring.
The Ample ABA Consulting team strives to maintain a family centered perspective and understands the importance of adaptability. We work with our clients and family/caretakers in community settings to promote positive behavior outside of the home setting.

The Early Start Program is managed by the California Department of Education and the California Department of Developmental Services. The program is for infants and toddlers with disabilities, and is the result of coordination with a range of family-centered services.
Families and professionals are encouraged to form partnerships with those offering family support and assistance from professional services like ABA therapy. The Early Start program is available at no cost through any regional center for developmental disabilities in California.
A speech therapy program begins with an evaluation by a speech-language pathologist (SLP) to assess the person’s communication strengths and challenges. From this evaluation, the SLP creates individual goals for therapy.
Speech-language therapy addresses challenges with language and communication. It can help people with autism improve their verbal, nonverbal, and social communication. The overall goal is to help the person communicate in more useful and functional way.
Occupational therapy (OT) helps people work on cognitive, physical, social, and motor skills. The goal is to improve everyday skills which allow people to become more independent and participate in a wide range of activities.
For people with autism, OT programs often focus on play skills, learning strategies, and self-care. OT strategies can also help to manage sensory issues.
The occupational therapist will begin by evaluating the person's current level of ability. The evaluation looks at several areas, including how the person -Learns, Plays, Cares for themselves and Interacts with their environment.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is an evidence-based treatment that can improve the quality of life of people with autism. This kind of therapy is tailored to the needs of each person with the goal of building skills and reducing dangerous or harmful behaviors. ABA programs can be intensive, with children often spending 20 to 40 hours each week with a behavior technician. BCBAs work directly with their clients to create an ABA treatment plan based on individual needs, goals and challenges. Treatment is often carried out by a registered behavior technician (RBT) or board-certified assistant behavior analyst (BCABA) under the supervision of the BCBA.
